Persistent FOB System

This system allows the creation, deployment, fortification, and resupply of forward operating bases mid-mission that persists between sessions. This system was designed to be used for semi-annual 24 hour missions and for several week long custom campaigns. It’s intended to allow the ground commander more flexibility over the strategic plan and gives players a sense of ownership.
This mod is not publicly available currently as it is in exclusive use by the Joint Security Organisation.

FOB Deployment

Forward operating bases are deployed by spawning a deployment crate at a staging area designated by the mission maker. Players must then transport this crate by slingload or flatbed to the desired location where it can be deployed and used as spawn area and restricted arsenal.

Fortification

Once a FOB has been deployed, players can use their E-tool or a combat engineer vehicle to place a variety of defenses, tents, helicopter landing pads, and lights.

Resupply

FOBs start with a limited amount of resources that are depleted by changing loadouts, taking extra gear, respawning, refueling, and rearming. Players must transport supply crates from the staging area to load them in and resupply the FOB as needed.

Persistence

The entire system is fully persistent. All deployed FOBS and their fortifications are saved dynamically and loaded automatically on mission start and end. This data is also pruned automatically by certain conditions so unused or abandoned data doesn’t take up unwanted space.

Ease of Use

To implement the entire system into a mission, the mission maker only needs to place two modules and set a single mission setting, everything else is handled automatically by the addon.
